Dues and Criteria for Associate Members
To become an associate member of the Panhellenic Association of Translators (PEM), you must be a senior student or a recent graduate of a translation/interpreting university department. As an associate member, you are not entitled to become a member of the PEM management bodies or vote for them. Moreover, you are not listed in the Association register.

€30 annual membership dues
As an associate member of PEM, you must pay your membership dues within the first quarter of the year.

What if I don’t pay my dues?
If you have not settled your financial obligations within the first 3 months of the year, you may be erased from PEM, according to Article 9 of PEM’s Articles of Association. However, before being erased, you must first have been notified in writing.
Senior students or graduates
To become an associate member, you must be a senior student or a recent graduate of a translation/interpreting university department.
Undergraduate students
You must be listed in the student register of a higher education course on translation/interpreting (a university in Greece or abroad) approved by PEM.
Graduates
You must have recently completed studies in translation or interpreting at a higher education institute (university in Greece or abroad) approved by PEM.
In addition, you must fulfill one of the following criteria:
- You are undergoing training in a linguistic profession accepted by PEM as a prerequisite to earning your degree.
- You are unemployed.
Full members
If you have been legally practising one or more linguistic professions that are accepted by PEM for more than 3 years, you can join PEM as a full member.

Accompanying documents
In order to join, your application must be accompanied by certain documents that verify your status:
- A copy of your degree, if you are a graduate.
- Your student ID card, if you are still studying.
- A copy of your CV.
